Oh how the flurry of vacation passed me by and the crippling feel of daily life snuck back on me. Spell check doesn’t believe in the work “snuck” btw… so what is the past tense of sneak?

Christmas was pretty awesome. Brandon and I went to his parents for roughly a week. We left on Christmas Eve and got there without issue. Managed to get 1st class on both flights over. 1st class is an amazing thing… I think I love it.

Fun people and good food made for a great time. I quite enjoy hanging with his parents and the rest of his family. I come from a small and quiet family and his the pretty much the opposite than that! The only downer was the cold. Only 30 minutes outside of Florida I was deceived by my misconceptions. Alabama gets damn cold.

I did miss my parents tho. This was the first Christmas ever that I haven’t spent with them. I’ll be sure to get home soon! Maybe in March when it starts to warm up, hehe.

We were planning on heading back to San Diego the Tuesday after Christmas but holy crap traveling was a mess. We ended up getting back VERY late on Wednesday. The first flight out was delayed 30 minutes which caused us to almost miss our connection… We made the connection and as the second flight tried to land in SD the marine layer had come in and the pilot was unable to see the airport. We circled around for a second attempt and had the same issue. Then we had to go to LAX because we were too low on fuel… So we refueled and I guess the saying “Third time is a charm” is pretty accurate. We landed safe and sound, just 4 hours late!

Thursday we headed up to Big Bear with some friends for New Years. We rented a not so cute cabin but had a blast nevertheless. We snowboarded Friday and Saturday. I bruised my ass… and headed back Sunday.

Then back to work.

I’m still tired. Tomorrow I will sleep in… in my own bed since Brandon is sick and he’s trying to avoid giving me the plague.

He’s a trooper tho, he went surfing this morning and I got to take some pictures! I’m pretty happy with how most of them turned out. I can never tell who is who out there in the mess of black wetsuits so I didn’t get any shots of Brandon actually on waves. God I want more camera stuff. I want a new body and either another telephoto lens or an extender for my current lens which should be fine for outdoors.

Unfortunately we cut the day short so he could go home and rest. I was starting to feel a little spacey anyways… I think the cooties were trying to take a hold of me too. Whenever I start to feel slightly ill I go home, stuff my tummy, and then just lay on the couch. I haven’t gotten sick in 2 years with this method!

So as I’m sitting here, enjoying a nice coffee with Baileys and messing with photos I figured now was a good time to start the blogging again. Shortly tho bed calls as the final step to my anti-sick strategy. Wish me luck!
